Guidelines for Use of Dick Schwartz’ Photos in External Marketing and Communications

Appropriate Use
Dr. Schwartz’s image may be used in:

  • Programs or Events where he is a presenter, faculty member, or featured guest.
  • Educational or Historical Contexts describing the origins or evolution of the IFS model.
  • Official Institute Communications, such as newsletters, updates, or reflections authored by or about him.

Inappropriate Use

His image should not be used:

  • In paid advertising or promotional campaigns unless directly featuring him as a speaker or contributor.
  • In third-party program promotions not produced or formally endorsed by IFS Institute.
  • In any context implying personal endorsement (“recommended by Dr. Schwartz” or “approved by Dick”).

Captioning and Attribution

  • Use this standard credit line when appropriate: Richard C. Schwartz, PhD, Creator of the Internal Family Systems model and Founder of the Internal Family Systems Institute
  • Provide photographer credit when required.
  • Ensure any accompanying quotes or references are accurate and properly cited.

Images of Dr. Richard Schwartz are used with permission to represent the history and development of the Internal Family Systems model. His appearance does not imply endorsement of specific programs or organizations beyond the IFS Institute.
